About Me
I am starting my 6th year as a school counselor. I started as the School Counselor at Jane Ball Elementary in Cedar Lake, Indiana before moving to Oak Hill Elementary to become the Student Support Advisor. I am so fortunate to be a part of such an amazing team of people that care about kiddos! I completed my undergraduate degree in Accounting at Davenport University in Merrillville, Indiana and then completed my Master's Degree in Education - School Counseling at Purdue University Calumet. I live in the neighboring town of Wheatfield with my husband, Aaron, our son, AJ, and our youngest daughter, Emma. My husband and I have two older daughters, Erica and Elisha, who are wonderful mothers to our five grandchildren. As a family, we love to travel, spend time with extended family, go to the movies, attend church, and support our children in their passions. Our most recent travels took us to Ireland with extended family, where we adventured and visited relatives. School counseling is my passion! I spend a lot of my free time participating in professional development, both learning and presenting to peers. I love learning and feel that all educators are lifelong learners! I also love getting to meet school counselors from all over the world and learn from them! I was honored to receive the 2016 Exemplary Elementary School Counselor Award from the Indiana School Counselor Association (ISCA). I am also honored to have been nominated to represent Indiana for the 2018 National School Counselor of the Year Award from the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). |
